The Investment Company Products /
Variable Products Representative examination (Series 6) was developed by the
NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers) in cooperation with certain
representatives of the securities industry and industry associations. This
test covers the redeemable securities of registered investment companies,
variable contracts and insurance premium funding programs along with other
insurance contracts that are not exempt from registration under the Securities
Act of 1933.
Successful Completion of the Series 6 examination allows
the applicant to qualify for registration to do business in the following:
Primary issues of
closed-end investment companies
Investment company
redeemable securities
Variable contracts and
insurance premium funding programs
Insurance contracts
which are not exempt from registration
The test is made up of 100 multiple-choice questions.
A grade of 70% (70 correct) is considered passing. Each student will be
given a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes for the exam.
